Can an external user receive and send files using an Accellion appliance?
Yes. By allowing external users to access the Accellion appliance through HTTPS connections, external users can exchange files with internal users through the same infrastructure.
How does Accellion provide compliance to regulations such as HIPAA and SOX?

Do I need special client software?
No. As long as you have access to a web browser, you can access your Accellion appliance.

Yes, there is a command-line utility that can be used for batch/scripted automated transfers.
Can it work with email clients like Outlook and Lotus Notes?
Yes. Accellion provides optional plug-ins to integrate with both Outlook and Lotus notes email clients.
Can I integrate my SAN with the Accellion appliance?

What kind of file life cycle management tool is offered?
The Accellion appliance allows an administrator to set a global life cycle policy to automatically delete a file after a predetermined period such as 30 days. Users with the appropriate authority can also set transaction specific policy such as deleting a file after 10 days.
Can user account creation be automated?
Yes. For internal users, the Accellion secure file transfer solution allows for integration with directory services such as LDAP and AD. For external users, a self-registration process eliminates the need for administrator intervention.
