Product Manager – Competitive Intelligence, Mobile

As Product Manager responsible for competitive analysis, you will provide the discovery, analyses and communication of key trends, opportunities, threats and implications related to Accellion’s overall market and external environment.  In a position of great influence, you will work with key stakeholders and the sales team to drive strategic decisions based on competitive intelligence.

This position requires deep competitive research and analysis, content creation and sales support. You will translate market and competitor actions into insights. You will identify strengths and weaknesses of both Accellion and the competitor offerings in order to identify differentiation and opportunities for Accellion.

The successful candidate will have a unique blend of business and technical savvy, moving easily from big-picture business discussions to being able to articulate product differentiators to technical audiences.

This position reports to the Senior VP of Engineering headquartered in Palo Alto, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the EFSS (Enterprise File Sync and Share) and EMM (Enterprise Mobility Management) market for trends and provide in-depth analysis for the product team.
  • Develop product strategies based on trends to lead the competition.
  • Help formulate Accellion’s market strategy for Enterprise Mobility and EFSS.
  • Develop product strategies with strong competitive intelligence facts and get buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • Assist the sales team in customer situations with key competitive intelligence information.
  • Maintain and publish all competitive intelligence metrics and information.


  • 3-5 years of software product management experience including competitive analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills to develop insightful competitive analysis.
  • Strong technical skills to understand the competition in depth.
  • Superb writing/communication skills required with a demonstrated ability to communicate at the solution level.  
  • Ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits.
  • Proven track record in developing thought leadership content such as white papers, case studies, solution guides, presentations, demos, contributed articles and sales training.   
  • Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, computer science or management.  Master’s degree a plus.
