Green On is Accellion's Green Initiative to raise awareness of the environmental benefits of using Accellion file sharing technology. This initiative includes making available earth friendly file sharing solutions, recognition of the environmental contributions made by companies using Accellion file sharing solutions, and partnering with organizations related to the conservation of trees and the restoration of native habitats.

Accellion Employees Help with Wetland Restoration on the San Francisco Bay - Save the Bay

Accellion has a small carbon footprint and we are making every effort to keep it that way.

• Employees use recycled paper for printing and participate in recycling of office paper, food cartons, and product packaging.
• Employees turn off computers and lights when they leave at night.
• Employees with long commutes take advantage of car pooling and telecommuting.
• Employees utilize web conferencing extensively to minimize car and air travel.
• The shipping of documents, spreadsheets, presentations or any other digital file via overnight delivery is strictly forbidden.

Background

Accellion is headquartered in Palo Alto, a city named after the tree "El Palo Alto", a coast redwood (Sequoia sempevirens) which roughly translated means "tall tree" in Spanish. The tree, El Palo Alto, is a California Historical Landmark and is recognized by the Arborist Association and International Society of Arboriculture for its historical significance. The tree dates to approximately year 940 and is depicted on the city of Palo Alto's official seal and on the seal of Stanford University.
