In an initial attempt to ease the burden on its network, Good Shepherd implemented a ‘shared drive’ process for exchanging large files over the company’s intranet. Although a technically sound solution, employees were reverting back to their more familiar company email to exchange files. As a result, the size and quantity of attachments were pushing Good Shepherd’s email system to the brink. It was clear they needed a solution that would be adopted by end-users; it also had to meet the required security and controls necessary to meet compliance mandates such as HIPAA.
