The Accellion SMTP Satellite extends Accellion file transfer technology to enable large files originating from business applications and multi-function scanner/copier/printers to be routed via Accellion for security, data leak prevention and email performance benefits.
Improved Email Performance
Using the SMTP Satellite distribution of large data reports from business applications can be offloaded from email, resulting in increased email performance and reduced email storage requirements. Working in conjunction with Multi-function scanner/printer/copier devices (MFDs) the Accellion SMTP Satellite increases operational efficiency by enabling business users to scan documents and transfer them securely and immediately from an MFD without impacting email.
Enhanced Data Leak Prevention
The SMTP Satellite works in conjunction with Accellion’s Managed File Transfer appliance and extends file tracking, reporting and encryption to files originating from scanners and business applications. Non-secure transfer of scanned documents and business reports containing intellectual property and confidential personal information can quickly become a security issue. Using the SMTP Satellite in conjunction with Accellion Managed File ensures each document is tracked and secured during transit enabling compliance with SOX, HIPAA, FDA and GLB regulations.
