Multi-Site Enterprise Installations
The Accellion Gold configuration is designed for corporate deployment of Accellion file transfer across multiple offices. Offering greater administrative support for multi-site installations, file replication, storage/SAN integration and the redundancy required for critical business deployment, Accellion Gold can be deployed on the Accellion appliance models ACA250, ACA500, ACA1000 and ACA1500.

Accellion Gold File Transfer Workflow
- User composes email and attaches file either through web interface or via email plug-in
- Files/folders are uploaded to the Accellion Appliance
- Secure link to file/folder is sent with the email
- Files/folders are replicated between Accellion Appliances
- Recipient clicks on secure link and downloads the files/folders from the Accellion Appliance
Controller & Satellite Appliances
With Accellion Gold two Accellion Appliances must be configured as Controller appliances with other appliances being configured as Satellite appliances. A controller appliance provides administrative support for all installed appliances. The controller appliance is continuously checking with each appliance on whether there are files uploaded and handles the rules regarding file replication.

With rack-mountable form factors, the ACA 500, ACA1000 and ACA1500 appliances contain RAID, redundant power supplies and fans, and hot-swappable disk drives to ensure maximum uptime and rock-solid hardware reliability.
Additional failover capabilities including Local Clustering and Remote Failover are available for the Accellion appliance to ensure that Accellion is always available to meet your corporations critical file transfer needs.
File Replication—Get Files Fast
Accellion provides file replication to enable flexible, customizable, distribution and storage of files throughout an Accellion appliance network. Accellion’s file replication technology is patented and provides valuable performance benefits. With Accellion file replication files are replicated between Accellion appliances enabling users to download files from the nearest Accellion Appliance with faster download speeds. For example with an Accellion file transfer installation linking offices in London, New York, Tokyo and Singapore, Accellion replicates files so that files sent from London to Singapore are downloadable from the Singapore Appliance.
Accellion’s file replication engine ensures that between any two appliances the replication of a very large file does not block replication of small files. File replication is triggered by one of the following mechanisms:
- Replication rules—these are preset rules that determine which files should be replicated, when they should be replicated and where they should be replicated to. Example replication rule: all files on Appliance A to be replicated to Appliance B and C.
- Manual replication—in this case an administrator requests for specific files to be replicated.
- Smart replication—this feature ensures that after each send transaction files are replicated to another location based on the recipient profile.

Storage/SAN integration
Using Accellion Gold administrators can set up rules to manage the life cycle of files centrally according to corporate retention policies. Multiple copies of files are identified and removed based on set demand levels or after a period of time and can be moved to long term storage over time.
