Accellion Automation is unlike traditional file transfer automation. Rather than using complicated integration tools and application message busses, Accellion uses email as its message bus. Since email is ubiquitous, our approach enables file transfer automation to be deployed anywhere there is an email connection. Accellion Automation's use of email as a message bus rather than as a file transport mechanism results in faster implementations and reduced costs.

A powerful component of the Accellion Managed File Transfer System, the Accellion Automation Agent can be easily configured to scan designated file directories for updated files and distribute this information to targeted corporate users and/or file folders for access by other business applications or authenticated users. Automating file transfers is no longer a massive IT undertaking. Updates to critical corporate data can be distributed immediately and automatically through the Accellion Automation Agent, using preset rules and distribution instructions. In doing so, "need to know" populations as well as business applications stay current on time- sensitive information such as updated pricing schedules, RFQ submissions, new corporate regulations and policies.
The Accellion Automation Agent is extremely versatile and can be installed either on desktops or application servers, or both as required. Custom high level scripting configures the Automation Agent for the particular organizational application.
In addition to the Automation Agent, Accellion also offers an Automation API and SDK providing programming access to lower level file transfer functionality.
