Can an external user receive and send files using Accellion?

Yes, external users can be designated as restricted users and can send files back to internal users.

How does Accellion provide compliance to regulations such as HIPAA and SOX?

By providing encryption, access control, and extensive audit trail of sending/receiving activities for the secure file transfer process, Accellion provides a platform for an organization to create compliant processes to meet requirements such as HIPAA and SOX.

Do I need special client software?

No. As long as you have access to a web browser, you can access Accellion secure file transfer.

Can it work with email clients like Outlook and Lotus Notes?

Yes. Accellion provides optional plug-ins to integrate with both Outlook and Lotus notes email clients.

Can I integrate my SAN with the Accellion appliance?

Yes. The Accellion appliance can be integrated with SANs for large enterprise deployments. Additional professional services are required.

What kind of file life cycle management tool is offered?

Accellion allows an administrator to set a global life cycle policy to automatically delete a file after a predetermined period such as 30 days. Users with the appropriate authority can also set transaction specific policy such as deleting a file after 10 days.
