Accounts Payable Specialist (4-6 months contract assignment)

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the full cycle of accounts payable including expense reports and corporate credit card transactions. This position will support other team members on year-end audit preparation as well as ad-hoc projects. This is a “hands-on” role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer full cycle Accounts Payable process including accurate AP invoice coding, obtaining proper authorization and processing check runs.
  • Ensure all invoices are received in a timely manner and entered accurately for month end close.
  • Process corporate card transactions, audit receipts and obtain authorization for payment.
  • Review and process expense reports in Concur and ensure accuracy and compliance with the company’s T&E policy.
  • Prepare Accounts Payable accruals for month end close.
  • Handle vendor inquiries timely and professionally and maintain vendor’s files.
  • Provide accounting support to other team members for month end close and help with ad-hoc projects as they arise.
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation.


  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments, work independently as well as a team member.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using an ERP system required (NetSuite highly preferred) and proficient in Microsoft Office suite software.
